Anime recommendation: Violet Evergarden
This is a very good anime from Netflix. It has a good story, very nice animation and a great cast.
The protaganist is voiced (in Japanese) by Yui Ishikawa, also known as Mikasa Ackerman from the well known anime Attack on Titan.
Warning: minors spoilers ahead:
This anime revolves around Violet Evergarden trying to adjust to a normal life after being a "tool for the military" her entire life. She knows nothing but to take orders, and only from her Major; Gilbert Bougainvillea.
During the war Gilbert goes missing in action, and his last words to Violet was "I love you".
Violet does not understand the emotion behind this sentiment and gets a job as an "Auto Memory Doll" writing letters for others, trying to understand what her Major meant when he said those final words.
I had a great time watching this one, it was both sad and heartwarming, often simultaneously. It's short, 13 episodes, so if you are looking for a short series I would recommend checking this one out.
If you have any recommendations for me post them in the comments!
Otherwise have a great day!

Wow, I didn't know if the voice actor was also Mikasa Ackerman. I like pretty much everything about this anime. The story, the animation, and especially its theme/setting and artstyle. 13 episodes worth your time indeed.
First thing I noticed, hehe. I have a knack for recognising different Japanese voice actors (seiyuu's) and she was perfect for this role. The way she is disconnected from the rest of the world and still one of the best at what she does, not unlike Mikasa.
Thanks for the reply, glad to know you enjoyed the show as well! Cheers!
One great anime from @korinkrafting's favorite animation company!
This is a roller coaster ride of an anime.
There's a new anime on town, it's called "Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii". You might wanna check that out.

Just finished the first episode and I really liked it! Very funny and I am excited to see where it goes.
Especially like the fact that they are playing "Monster Hunter" on their "Nintendo Switch" even though there is no Monster Hunter title for the Switch though, haha.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Do you know if there's a dub for it? With the exception of Lastman, which I have really enjoyed (still got one episode left of it to watch), I don't really like reading movies and shows, but based on the concept and description some of the animes like this do sound interesting.
It just so happens that Netflix has an option for English audio, so there you go :)
Personally I prefer it in Japanese, I find that the English language doesn't quite work with the Japanese animation, Japanese just sound so much more expressive.
But I do understand and respect that you want English, so absolutely go watch it in English!
Cool thanks
