How It All Begins

Whiles looking for spare electronic parts to build his robots, Jérémy Belpois, a 13 year old boy stumbles upon a secret lab in the basement of an abandoned factory. Within this lab he finds a quantum super-computer and weird tube like containers. Upon looking around and pondering the idea he decides to turn on the computer.

Upon returning to the main monitor he discovers a highly advanced AI, with no memories of its function and decides to call her Maya.

Unfortunately for Jérémy he woke up something else at the same time as Maya an entire virtual world, named Lyoko, with a hidden secret.

Jérémy digs into the code of the Super Computer and discovers the function of the tube like objects beneath it. These tubes are in fact Scanners, able to scan a living beings molecules and transfer them into digital data.

This gives him the idea to try and brig Maya to the real world. However soon the secret of this virtual world gives him a rude awakening, Jérémy is almost electrocuted by an vending machine and later attacked by his own robots. Two of his class mates Ulrich and Odd who were witness to these incidents are dragged into this dangerous story.

Soon after realizing that these strange incidents happening in the real world are related to towers within Lyoko Jérémy, Odd and Ulrich with the help of Maya decide to dive head first inside to stop whatever is causing this.

After this first encounter with the dark secret of Lyoko they decide that the the Super Computer needs to be turned off but first Jérémy wishes to bring Maya, who has an almost human level of intelligence, to the real world.
