Hello steemians Nakamas, I'm a fan of this anime and I 've noticed that there isn't a lot of post about it here, the lack of post has me going back to youtube from time to time, so let's start the ball rolling with a theory I have about it, so it goes like this:

What if the pirates are really the bad ones and the world goverment is the good one (at least in this anime)? What if the pirates actually are resembling the final enemy (for Christians), the army of demons agains the heavenly army, and Luffy being the hero of this anime is a short for Lucifer?

I thought about this theory in Barbarossa arc, when Luffy disguised as a unknown warrior to be able to fight in the Coliseum to win Ace's devil fruit, his name was Lucy:

It has a more devilish look, with the 2 horns, and the name Lucy, one time I saw some videos in youtube about Satanist and they mentioned they call Satan sometimes Lucy as a friendly way. So that had me thinking, what if the pirates are resembling the army of demons that rebelled against God in the creation and therefore this anime has some religious connotation. Probably it may be seing farfetch but a real follower of this anime can go onto the same train of thoughts that I went and probably arrive to the same conclusion, so here we go:

The devil fruit tree and the forbiden tree of the creation

Let's start with the more obvious comparisson, the devil fruits are an important column of this anime, some characters has a tremendous power with the help of a devil fruit converts their body into a material that can be found in life, and give it's user the power to control that element or property at will but it takes away the ability to swim, so the user's sinks as a rock when launched to the ocean, mocking Christ and his ability to walk on top of the sea perhaps? ..... But one thing is true without any doubt, in the creation there was another tree, the tree of the good and evil, and when Adam and Eve ates from that tree they were expelled from the creation, the forbiden tree.

Luffy has eaten a devil fruit, the Gomu Gomu no me, the rubber fruit, that gives him elasticity. Sure, he is not the only devil fruit user, but this anime is a quest of the antichrist, Lucifer, looking to see which will be the Pirate that will bring the Era when Pirates dominates the world.

The world government and the Gorosei

The five members of the Gorosei, the ones that actually pulls all the string of the World Government, they decided who was going to be shichibukai when Gecko Moria was defeated, they decided to send Bartholomeo Kuma to get Luffy's head if he got vitorious against Moria. This is only examples that actually were shown in the serie, so is safe to say that they moves all the chips in the world government, the actual rules:

In my theory, the Gorosei resemble the Archangels, Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Sealtiel. There are actually 8 main archangels, but since the Gorosei are 5 people we can streched that is the main archangels they resemble. Until now we don't know what each of them stands for, so we can't fit them into the specific characteristics of each of the archangels yet.

The Gorosei is always calm, never mad angry like a Blackbeard evilish angry, something that may indicates an evilness in them, quite the contrary, when they appears it shows like a peaceful angriness, like a celestial rage, lords in control of their emotions, directing the last battle of the heavens, God and his archangels against Satan and his demons.

The beast of them all

Luffy wants freedom, but what is freedom for our hero? To be the pirate king. The pirate king is the man with the most freedom in the world, but since this is a fighting anime, to be pirate king you have to had a power and strength so incredible to accomplish that goal, that only one man in the whole history of the anime has accomplish that level:

Gold D Roger,

A man so strong that could be called the King of the Pirates for all of the pirates without any doubt, the strongest and fearless beast among all beast, Gol D Roger sees himself with a dying disease and decides to turn himself to the marine (the polices of the world government) so they can execute him, but he has an agenda, evil as he is, he decides to turn himself in knowing that his execution will bring thousand of thousand of pirates all over the world and was going to be known for every pirate on every corner of the world, so about to be execute he scream his last words:

IS REAL, THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!!!

And with this statement he launches another Pirate Era, where new pirates were going to inherit the will of the old pirates, in his hopes that this statement could be enough to awakes the one they were waiting for, the real leader of them all that will bring down the world government, Lucifer.

Lucifer and his Demons

Lucifer, Beelzebub, Mammon, Belphegor, Leviathan, Asmodeus and Aamon. Each of them represent a particular characteristic that it's present in Luffy's tripulation:

Lucifer, selfishness, The entire crew wants to be the best in the world in their passion, Luffy the Pirate King, Zoro the best swordsman in the world, Sanji the best cooker in the world, Nami the best navigator in the world, Ussop the best adventurer in the world, Chopper the best doctor in the world, Frankie the best ship constructor in the world and so on.

Beelzebub, gluttony, Luffy eats a lot, food gives him strenght.

Mammon, greed, Nami represent the greed, loves money, always calculating how much money they can steal in any place.

Belphegor, sloth, Zoro represents te sloth, always sleepy, bored, tired, sloppy losing the road all the time. But Luffy is sloth too, sleep anywhere even eating.

Leviathan, envy, Luffy has envied a lot of his "nakamas" and actually had wish bad thing to happen to them when he's envying them, and they envied among each other when they see the new rewards the world government print for each one of them.

Asmodeus, lustfulness, The demon in charge of separate the family by inserting lust among men, all Luffy's tripulation are orphans, either their parents were killed when they were children, either were abandoned by their parents, or escape from their families since they were mistreated.

Aamon, wrath, hate, differences, suffice to repeat this is a fighting anime, so wrath is always present, hatred against the enemy to be defeated.

There is tons of more information about this, for example the fact that Zoro actually has a demon inside him is fishy enough, but I don't want to make this post longer that it is so far. This was the train of thought that got me to the point of watching this anime on guard, with carefulness, since there is a possibility it may be revelead that the world government were the good guys after all.
