Anime: The unfair Stereotype it suffers

in #anime7 years ago (edited)

It is very disheartening and annoying, the way most people stereotype Anime in a disdaining manner. The popular comment given by such people when they see someone watching anime or talking about it is isn’t this for kids? Why are you watching cartoons, are you a kid? This actually pisses me off! The truth is if you don’t know much about a thing, you shouldn’t badmouth it and criticize whoever does it.

Anime has greatly suffered misconception as being referred to as cartoons, which are generally regarded to be for children although there are a few cartoons an adult could watch. Some critics who actually did try to watch or saw clips and pictures of anime, usually come up with criticisms judging the characters physical appearance like them having big eyes, unusual body forms with most of the ladies always having big tits and about anime being too violent, which is not all true.

This stereotyping has affected the anime industry in so many ways especially the growth of its sales market and I think it is high time anime otakus started making people appreciate anime more. But the question is How can we make it happen? How can we make anime much more appreciated in the world, even in the steemit community? How can we make folks see the art in anime and accept its culture?
I am calling on all otakus on steemit.

If you are new to anime and would want to know more about it, its history, why you need to watch them and where to get them, you can check my old post Anime: An alternative format to the live action industry

Thank you.
