My Hero Academia and its initial message
My Hero Academia or Boku no Hero Academia is currently one if not the most popular anime of today running strong with it 3° season currently at the moment with it new seasonal approach to a long running shounen show from the Weekly Shounen Jump Magazine, that frankly its a stroke of genius compared to similar long running show of the past like Naruto or One Piece that were ruined by ton of filler or terrible pacing needed to keep them going alongside its manga counterpart.
But that is pretty much as far as my praise for the series goes.
Today topic is about the very start of the serie, or how to ruin an otherwise inspirational message and make and unsympathetic protagonist.
Izuku Midoriya, also know by his nickname Deku, is a boy born without a power, called quirks, in a world were being born with one is common place.
And here is where we found our first problem, Deku wanted to be a hero his whole life, but it never occurred to him the idea of training to be one, nor does anything else to accomplished it...
(and getting notes on the heroes like a fanboy does not count)
if it wasn't for his random encounter with All Might, what the hell he would have done? he would even try to go to hero school? if soo, then what? go to the exam and fail and kill himself or something?
The moral of the story is to be a hero you need to be special, and to be special you need to... win the lottery...
such a great message ¬¬
At least Naruto was doing something to get what he wanted from even before the start of the serie.
He wanted attention, admiration and the respect of his village that ostracized him for some reason
at first as he doesn't know any better he goes the prank route to get the attention he so much desire and is craving for
but his ultimate goal is to be the greatest of all to get all that, The Hokage, and that is his journey.
Meanwhile, Deku want to be a hero, and does nothing to get even a step closer to that goal...............
alright, why the hell I would want to follow this kid's journey again?
Ok fine, let accept the start of the story as is, that Deku does nothing because he just needed a moral bust to start taking action, because his mom crushed his dream or something, so far so good.
Now he find the greatest hero of all, his idol, the sole reason why he want to be a hero in the first place, All Might
through a series of events he show to him that he is worthy, and said hero take him under his wing to make him his successor no less!
now Deku can show us all that you don't need to be special to be a hero, that with hard work and dedication you can be great, he would be the Batman/Ironman, the Rock Lee that would inspire us all to be great!!!
... but no, that is too complicate.
here receive the greatest power of all, now go and kick some asses............................
And there it goes the you don't need to be special out of the windows along with the hard work and dedication... great, just great...
And what do you think of the serie?
