[Chaerys' Anime Review] Another

In 1972, a popular student in Yomiyama North Middle School's class 3-3 named Misaki passed away during the school year. Since then, the town of Yomiyama has been shrouded by a fearful atmosphere, from the dark secrets hidden deep within.

The story takes place twenty-six years later after the incident in 1972. Our protagonist Kouichi Sakakibara transfers into class 3-3, the same class which the famous Misaki was in. However, he observes that there is an eerie atmosphere in the class but no one wants to talk about it. Later, our protagonist run into a girl with an eyepatch named Misaki Mei, however, the rest of the class, even the teachers seem to treat her like she does not exist. As the story continues, we start to learn the deep, dark secrets about the curse dwelling upon Yomiyama's Class 3-3...

My opinions

I was on board when I was 30 seconds in during the first episode. The story-telling, music, and the art-style really caught my interest. Cleverly written dialogues and unexpected twists are timed so well that you just can't stop watching. Character designs and the voice actings are top-notch. A little warning though, if you are easily affected, do NOT watch this. It has a lot of gory scenes. It has almost been a year since I watched it, but I still remember the opening theme today. If you like mysteries, this show is for you. This show got a score of 7.80 after being voted by 435,451 users on MyAnimeList.
