RE: Anime/Manga review: Maison Ikkoku

in #anime6 years ago

I loved LOVED Maison Ikkoku, its romance is very slow but its story is not, characters chjange in a good way (excpet Yotsoya.) Even if there late series perosnality isn't better than it was, the change itself is what I love in this story.

I love the mix of comedy and drama in it, and chasing after a widow is an interesting premise... Every time I read the manga and reach the ending I think: "I want to create something like this better than this one day!" because it's so awesome.

Watched only the first few episodes of the anime forgot why I stopped but the manga felt more original and "true" for me.

Thank you for your comment dude! Yeah it is a fairly long manga/anime where you can see really see the characters evolving. Yotsuya is a mystery to me. So difficult to analyze and even understand this character. He can be very creepy at times and then would do cool things from time to time. Plus he absolutely does not want the others to know where he works or where he comes from. In the anime there is an episode where they actually find a very old photo album of the Ikkoku house from many many years ago. And he was on those pictures. So how old is the dude lol ? 60? 70? Or did his dad live in the Ikkoku's house many years ago and he happens to look exactly like his dad? I do like the fact that he stays at the Ikkoku house even after Yusako and Kyoko get married, because it means that he actually cared about the others.

Oh yeah that manga develops interesting concepts I think. Oh yeah you should totally do that dude! Well I think that many of the relationships from the anime could have ended up differently, but it's just my point of view. In any event I am a big fan of maison Ikkoku as well.

Oh yeah the manga can be better in the sense that it lets the reader imagine more if that makes sense.
