The "Golden Apple" - Bulgarian animation project

The "Golden apple" is an animation series project based on the Bulgarian folklore - myths and legends. The series present mythological creatures like zmei and samodiva nymph, by mixing their characteristics with human features. As the authors of the film said the characters were not meant to be good or bad, just a nature's personification, their actions depending on how people behave with them. They are not heroes and they bear the consequences from their decisions. Here is a brief description of some of the main characters:

The first is called Vihra. She is the daughter of a zmei (spirit of the storms) and a human, and as a result she looks like a girl, but her hair is a cloud, which changes with her mood – it’s fluffy and clear blue when she’s calm, and darker, with little lightnings in it when she’s angry.
Besides her, the other female character is Tina-Pakostina. As her name suggests, she likes jokes, but at the same time, being a samodiva nymph, she is very feminine, beautiful, with an angelic voice, and thanks to it and her enchanting dance she can influence the nature around her, run springs, drain rivers, this type of stuff. She is also a healer, a friend of Vihra, both knowing each other from their childhood, growing up together in a region - Khan where the action begins. There people and nature spirits live in peace together.
Vlad is the younger of the two Kuker brothers. He is big and very strong, which has made him a bit slow, lumbering and very careful not to break anything. Vlad is very calm, gentle and very polite. He speaks little and with a hint of good-natured sarcasm. For him knowledge is the greatest power and books are sacred, so he is constantly reading, even when walking. Although timid and shy, when Vlad puts on his Kuker costume and enters a battle – he becomes a confident and skilled warrior. He knows the Kuker guide by heart and often cites it to his impulsive brother Bran.
Vulkan is Vihra’s father. He is a Zmei (spirit of the storms), so his hair and beard are made of clouds. Vulkan is the leader of the spirits in the city of Khan and one of the few spirits married to a human. Respected and loved by both spirits and humans, he is good- natured and loves telling stories and jokes.
