Animation with massFX. Do you know 3ds max is a romantic software!!

Hello friends, Hope you all are well. Last few days I knew about the very interesting thing in #3ds max. Which is physics? Little bet surprise? Maybe you can think what is the relation between 3d animation and physics? Yes, they have a strong relation, Physics knowledge sharpens animating kills. So every animator study physics. When animators animate an object that time they hardly try to maintain the law of physics. That is mandatory for realistic animation and beauty, rather animation not getting up to the mark.

This is hard to maintain physics law manually and this is time-consuming. The goodness of animator, 3ds max software includes the #MassFX feature. MassFX was known as physics engine. Using that, we can simulate many physical properties. Which is automatically measure density, mass, friction and capture keyframes based on objects interact. We need to just define physical forces to act objects, MassFX simulates the resulting animation.

How to work massFX?


If you want to understand how to work massFX, first you have to understand about the rigid body. This is the main factor to simulate hard objects such as wood, metal, and plastic. Three types of rigid body available in 3ds max.

  1. #Dynamic
  2. #Kinematic
  3. #Static

Dynamic Rigid Body

Dynamic rigid body objects are similar to an real-world objects. It’s bump into other objects; actually subject to gravity and other forces. With the physical shape and the graphical mesh/ poly updated. However, we can simulate dynamic object with the concave shape type.

Kinematic Rigid Body

Kinematic rigid body is a puppet moved by the string of our animation. It can encounter any dynamic objects. But cannot be pushed by them. It not related to gravity or other other forces. The kinematic rigid body turns in to the dynamic rigid body after specific frame.

Static Rigid Body

Static Rigid Body cannot be animated. Dynamic objects can bump into the static rigid body and bounce off it. The interesting thing is static rigid body never reacts. It supports concave physical shapes. It’s useful for performance optimization.

So friends if you want to be a good animator lets learn about MassFX. It makes animation more easer. in my first class, Our head consultant said. “3ds max is a romantic software, who is not romantic those not able to gather enough skill”. That time I did not understand why he told that. Now I well understand why he told that. 3d animation like your boyfriend or girlfriend. When you start the animation, modeling, texturing or lighting I granted that you forget all another thing. Yes, in 3d you can make your own world. Own rules what you want.

My class situation


This is one of the fun parts of my present life. Everyone is very serious in class when two and a half hour passed, most of them are sleepy. After 30 minutes all are waking up again. Problem is none of them don’t understand the lesson. That time only our class video solved our problem. I am saying that because all are worked full night.
Today I have to stop my writing, start to complete my class work. Thanks again and stay with me for more tropic.
