True stories of true hero dogs
There a lot of stories of dogs who have saved people and other animals, in some cases even with their life. At the following post there has been a selection of the most characteristic cases.
Frida
Meet Frida, the very, very good girl who has become a national hero: Rescue dog saves twelve and counting as she works her way through post-earthquake rubble in Mexico City.
the 7-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever has located 12 people alive beneath the rubble plus more than 40 others dead, more than any other Mexican rescue dog,
Frida only has about a year left as a life-scent dog before her olfactory senses are expected to decline.
Eve
Kathie Vaughn was heading to Atlanta for an antiques show when her car caught on fire. Kathie is paralyzed from the waist down, so evacuating the vehicle quickly and easily wasn't an option. She began trying to assemble her wheelchair, but the smoke made her disoriented.
Luckily, her dog, Eve, was still sharp and totally fearless, so she dragged her owner out of the vehicle and into a nearby ditch. Soon the entire vehicle went up in flames.
Joe
Joe's owner, Deborah Epstein, was home recuperating after a recent car accident, and she forgot to shut her front door. A black bear saw its chance and shuffled right into her house. Deborah's six-pound Yorkie was not on board with the intruder, and when the bear started going after his dog food, that was the last straw. Joe chased the bear right out of the house.
Dayko
The brave labrador Dayko, came and helped firefighters from the moment they began rescue operations in the city of Pedernales Ecuador, after the earthquake of 7.2 Richter.
Dayco was looking for hours in the debris, saving seven people until he collapsed, his heart betrayed him.The mobilization of fellow firefighters was immediate, but neither they nor the veterinarian could keep him alive.
The heroic dog was buried in the fire station to be close to his friends. At the ceremony that honored him, everyone was overwhelmed.
Polo
The following story is maybe the most remarkable and emotional.
Polo may have fled prematurely from life, finding even a martyr's death, but has done a lot in just a few minutes and will be mentioned for years. As Independent writes, Erika Pomeski came out, for a while from her home, leaving Viviana, her 8-month-old girl in her room,. From an unknown reason, the house was wrapped in the flames and within it was trapped the baby and the dog of the family.
In spite of Pommeski's efforts, she was unable to find a way to go back home to help her child.. This role, however, was taken by Viana's faithful friend. Polo hung the little girl in his body to protect it from the flames.
When firefighters reached the point, the dog did not respond. however little Viviana, had been saved, even though she suffered burns at 19% of her body.
