Four lions vs a duck!
Today, I saw this amazing video, in which a Lioness at Amsterdam Zoo, saw a duck swimming in the pond, and caught it. Afterwards, a fight ensued between her and the other lion/lionesses. The duck looked like history, until due to the ongoing fight between the lion/lionesses, the duck somehow managed to escape, seemingly without any serious injuries! You can see the video for yourself below.
It is not the first time though that these lionesses caught a bird there. In the following video, you can see them catching a heron. This time successfully!
It is funny how the heron trusted those lionesses. However, when it got too close and saw the lionesses coming at it, it tried to fly, but of course if was too late then. At that point, it couldn't even turn back. But this is not the only Heron, that these lionesses have caught in the Amsterdam Zoo, as can be seen from another video below.
Seems like these lionesses love eating birds :)!
@hmushtaq Interesting videos.. Lions are carnivores, which means they eat meat. This lioness can also hunt like birds, rabbits and reptiles. It prey and eats ranges from small animals such as lizards to enormous animals like hippos.
Poor ducks don't know that they are entering their death place. Seems lioness love to eat birds. I read some where that lion doesn't take part in prey. Mostly lioness do prey and lion eat it.
