Owl on the tree

When you know where to search you can even find such beautiful birds like owls in the trees. Patrick a friend of us in vienna told us a place where we can take some pictures of the owls and we where lucky to find the place with ease. Because Patrick is working for a big Park as an arborist he knows a lot of nice spots where birds and other animals can be found. He showed us a spot where this beuatiful owls is sleeping over the day and we were lucky to find it. We took several pictures before we moved on and looked for other birds and animals in the park. But of course the owl was the hightlight this day. Owls usually try to sleep and rest during the day and hunt in the twilight or during the night.

When we took some pitures of the bird it was carefully watching us and since it had a perfect spot on a branch in the tree that was good visible from underneath I could get some really nice pictures of this beauty. I like how the Eyes pop out and with its "face" it really looks friendly.

The Owl is one of the birds that can fly soundless and attaks its prey often mice and other rodents from behind in flight. During the day they often sit on high trees and sleep or rest there to be active in the next evening / night.

I only found some owls in eastern Austria (Lower Austria, Vienna and Burgenland) till now in Upper Austria I struggled to find some owls for a long time until last year when Patrick showed us a spot at a cementary. I don't really know why but cementaries are always a hotspot for animal and birdphotography since they are used to humans and you can get really close to them without disturbing them.
