Denounce the Trachemys in Italy

For all owners of water turtles of the Trachemys genus!

If you don't have them but you know someone who has them, let them know that the denunciation is an act of civilization and is free.

Following the Legislative Decree 230/2017 published in the Official Journal on 30 January 2018, the following prohibitions are in force from 14 February 2018:

-reproduction
-cultivation (for vegetables and mushrooms)
-transport
-purchase
-sale and / or exchange
-detention
-release
As can be read on the website of the Ministry of the Environment, it will still be possible to continue to hold invasive alien species as pets, on the condition of reporting the possession of the specimen and keeping it (until its death) so that it is not possible escape or release into the natural environment, and to prevent its reproduction.
IMPORTANT: the report must be presented within 180 days of the entry into force of the Legislative Decree 230/2017, ie by 13 August 2018, accompanied by a copy of the identity document and in the manner indicated on the second page of the linked Form.
