Signs of Friendship Between Cats
Friendship among cats is a phenomenon that might surprise many, as cats are often perceived as independent and even solitary creatures. However, cats can form strong social bonds, both with other cats and with humans.
Signs of friendship between cats:
- Playing together: Friendly cats often play with each other. Play can involve gentle biting, jumping on each other, and "racing" around the house.
- Mutual grooming: If two cats lick each other, it’s a clear sign that they trust and love one another. This helps to establish social bonds and strengthen their friendship.
- Peaceful coexistence: Friendly cats can sleep next to each other, share space without conflict, and sometimes even share the same basket or resting spot.
- Head rubbing: When cats rub their heads and faces against each other, it’s a sign of affection and greeting.
- Communication: Friendly cats may "talk" to each other, purring or using soft sounds to show friendliness.
However, it's important to remember that not all cats bond quickly. The process of forming a friendship can take time, especially when it comes to adult cats who haven’t lived together before. But once cats get used to each other, their relationship can become very strong.
