EAGLE FLOREST
This Flores native bird is the most endangered raptor or bird of prey, since its population is less than 250.
This beautiful bird has a medium size; about 55 cm high for adult birds. The head is white and sometimes has brown stripes on the crown. The body is dark brown, and this Flores endemic bird chest is white with a red pattern.
Flailed eagles or Spizaetus floris can only be found on the islands of Flores, Sumbawa, Lombok, Satonda, Paloe, Komodo, and Rinca. This bird usually inhabits lowland forests and submontana forests up to an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level.
