App Inventor
App inventor is like a tool or programming language which enables user to create android applications for mobile phones ( only for android phones at the monent).
If you have just a little background in regards to programming languages or in other words if you are just a starter, app inventor is easy to learn, quite fun and very useful. With one click you can see all the related commands and you can write codes quickly. The commands are all self explanatory and work like lego logic. You can use location, time / date, drag item functions etc very easily.
One importing thing you do should know before learning and using this lovely tool is; it pretty much limits users / apps on certain cases. For example after spending hours or maybe days you create an app which you do like and it Works quite fine on the emulator ( it is a simulation of a mobile phone/ it is a virtual mobile phone screen). It also works fine when you connect your mobile phone to app inventor. The surprise is that after building the app and loading your app to your mobile or publishing it on google play etc the program would give errors due to limitations. For example when you go back and forth between screens, say after 3rd time or 7th time or whatever it may give errors due to memory and screen opening/closing roblems. The problem occurs usually due to the size of image and sound files, also the high number of screens in your app ( maybe 10 or more ) may cause problems too.
Briefly, a great and fun to use tool/programming language for building android applications for android mobile phones but what works pretty fine during development stage can easily fail after packing/building the application.
