To see or not to see, that is the question!
Why am I so damn curious about my family history ... why? How does knowing anything more than what I already do help me? Maybe I'm trying to stay connected to deceased loved ones. Or, I'm trying to discover lost secrets to better understand my location in the world. Is there anything to discover that will illuminate the path to follow for the second half of life? I don't know .... should I check and see or let it go?
As a genealogical researcher I am all in favour of digging in to the family tree. :D
People often snear at mention of history (which our ancestors are an integral part of, of course), but I think knowing where and who we came from gives us an anchor - and that in turn somehow gives us comfort.
Plus, you never know what you may find ... ;)
