Help me ancaps. I'm confused.

Hello ancaps of Steemit! I would rather not talk about my own political beliefs but i have a question for you ancaps who hate the state. If the state has some kind of monopoly on violence and it is an oppressive entity, why do you believe it was created in the first place and how should we plan to get rid of it?

Sort:

anarchist capitalist is an oxymoron please ask the real anarchists

https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/download/Marx_Wage_Labour_and_Capital.pdf

it doesn't matter if you get rid of it the outcome is basically the same

But I'm asking for the ancaps point of view. Ancom doesn't work if that's what youre advocating for but I understand your point of view. Capital always leads to monopolies and the state is in place to control the class warfare. But I just want to hear their point of view.

"ancom doesnt work"

you might want to read this..... it proves you completely wrong lmao

Sorry I dont feel like reading that much. Could you just shortly explain how you plan to create a society without an organized military/police if the rest of the world (probably) still is capitalist? And how do you plan do run society as a whole?

  1. As it says in the "long" text...... just get a group and do it. The governments will likely attack you and you can use that to topple all of them (or eventually make it too much trouble to attack)

"how do you plan to run society"
I don't, end of story.

how would it run itself? Most likely horizontal leadership at the basic town or facility level

Okay so complete decentralization. I just dont understand how many decentralized towns would be able to run projects like railway building and running nasa. Wouldnt that need some kind of centralize entity that can organize the "big" projects and organs in society?

And for defense. Do you believe in some kind of guerilla defense or..? Because if its centrally organized to defend the land, its called a state. The marxist definition of a state is basically organized monopoly in violence (military and police).

A big project doesn't need a centralized government. A big project would benefit everyone so many towns or individual people would allocate extra resources to any projects they like.

and a military is not needed

monopolies on violence are wrong...but ancient rome is pretty cool.....and yeah government = bad and humans should be free to start a business without having to pay a bunch of bullshit regulations and taxes for at least a 2 year period to get up and running

I understand. But how would you plan to remove this oppressive force from society?

https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/download/Marx_Wage_Labour_and_Capital.pdf

I shouldn't have to spend my entire life working for a capitalist and getting what I produce taken away or starve to death

by DEFINITION the state has a monopoly of (in state) violence.
That's not an An-Cap view..
That's a statist position.

No I understand that the state has a monopoly on state/organized violence and I agree. What I don't understand is what was the reason for the state to be created in the first place and how does an ancap plan to remove it from society?

The state was created by Robbers. Those who would rather steal from their fellow man rather than do something worthwhile on their own. To legitimize their theft, they created Religion. "pie in the sky..by and by...right now get TO WORK".

so it has been since the agricultural revolution.
