When people argue about whether "capitalism" is good or evil, they are rarely clear about what they're actually debating. This video avoids the semantic disagreements, and gets to the principles involved.
So in 1 way there is 3 kinda truths, the fals truth (a lie) a half truth (a truth mixed with a none truth) and truth. In this video you Larken talk about the most dangerous of thous 3, the half truth. Being that we need capicatlism to have incentive to improve technology, produce products and so on. FALSE.
This comment wil become too long to explain the in detail, but i can do my best to explain parts. It was used as an example that the proffit motive is why most of what you have and own exist. While that is true in our situation, it it not becuase of the proffit motive. Its because of the capitalistic system does not allowe for it to be done in any other way. BUT it is VERY MUCH POSIBLE. it can be shown by imagening other systems of social cooperative ways to interact.
1 example of someone who wanted to actually make improovements that benefited him and others, and was NOT motivated by proffits. Was Nicolai Tesla. And you could say that the entier electrical system of today was developed NOT from the proffit motive as a result(because its based off Teslas systems using AC). And the proffit motive of others is exactly what stopped him from acheaving his goals of free energy to everyone from his systems he had designed.
So if you do your best in inventing and producing technologys based on inherent development and sociatal improvment motive, as opose to proffit, you wil get stopped and prevented. Because the capitalistic system does not allowe for it to happen to its fullest. Nor does it allowe for development of technologys that does not brake down.
Nice try, except the only reason Tesla had the means to spend his time and energy doing what he did, and had the equipment to study and invent, were the rich-ass CAPITALISTS who funded him ... some of which (mainly J.P. Morgan) then stabbed him in the back. Furthermore, despite his awesome discoveries, Tesla alone could never have made a car, or a cell phone, or much of anything, without an organized, hierarchical operation.
Great stuff brother. Capitalism is being skewed in definition to fit an elitist agenda.

ITs easy to turn a blind eye to what is not understood.
I do not try, by the way.
