ATF investigates Karen Mallard

in #anarchy6 years ago (edited)

The ATF is "investigating" US congressional candidate, Karen Mallard, for sawing off the barrel of an AR-15 in a viral video in a show of solidarity with the students of Parkland, Florida because she inadvertently created a stamp-less (illegal) short barrel rifle, or sbr.

I mean...I have no clue what the hell the ATF is "investigating" she is on video blatantly breaking the law! And even if she feigns ignorance, any gun rights advocate worth their weight in pocket Constitutions will tell you that, "Ignorance of the law does not excuse you from breaking the law."

Now, if you read my last article about Karen Mallard, at the end I said, "Fuck the ATF." And that remains I still and will always feel that way. The ATF's investigation is a huge waste of money. Leaving aside the fact she's on video breaking the law (VIDEO SHE POST TO HER OWN SOCIAL MEDIA MIND YOU!) WTF is there to investigate the is a victimless crime. A victimless crimes is doing anything and everything that does not violate the non-aggression principle but is deemed illegal by government agents Ex: Prostitution, drug possesion, tax evasion...SAWING A RIFLE BARREL IN HALF! I would never advocate for anyone to be investigated; let alone, have to pay for legal defenses, imprisoned for any victimless crime!

But, boy oh boy, isn't Karen Mallard's situation a sweet dose of poetic justice? How deliciously ironic is it that Mallard is advocating for more gun laws that she be investigated by the federal government for breaking ALREADY EXISTING gun laws and could possibly be facing 10 years in Federal Prison?

I'm almost certain that if anyone else had done this and she was say a Congress woman, she wouldn't bat an eyelash at the book being thrown at those individuals. Hopefully, this ordeal will teach her that there's a such thing as victimless crimes and give her empathy for those that are ignorant of the law. But, I SERIOUSLY doubt it. Statists gonna state.

In an interview she does with local news after her stunt, she says the government is there to protect us and children. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is already been determined, BY THE GOVERNMENT, that police (government) are under no obligation to protect you and your family.

She also says we need to get rid of the bump stocks and military-style weapons. Bump stocks aren't weapons and what about mentioning the unlawful manufacturing of short barrel military-style rifles, Karen Mallard?

She clearly does not know many of the gun laws which are already on the books which prohibit many of the things that she believes we need to be protected from; which is probably also why she violated ATF gun laws. Besides Karen Mallard:

Murder is already illegal!*

(unless you're government agents, of course. See war/collateral damage)

In the interview she says that the gun had been rendered inoperable. This is, of course, not true as well. In order to have rendered the gun inoperable, she would have had to destroy the lower receiver; which is the part actually considered the weapon by the ATF. And according to somethings I've read online she would have had to use some sort of cutting torch which would have removed a large portion rendering the weapon completely inoperable and incapable of being welded back together. So even if she did cut the correct part of the weapon in half her using a saw, still means that she wouldn't have destroyed it correctly.

From a very vindictive standpoint, I would love to see this Statist face thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars in legal fees and in addition serve 8.5 years in federal prison (mandatory), but I'm a voluntaryist. I do not want for anyone to have money stolen from them to pay for the investigation of a victimless crime; much less to pay for them to be imprisoned for damn near a decade!

I think if the government is going to spend your money they could spend it on better things but I am under no Illusion of how government actually works. And nor should you ever be.

Taxation is theft. Statism is slavery.

PS: After I finished writing this piece, I saw this video by YouTuber Liberty Doll

She brings up all the points that I've mentioned and shows you the actual laws that she violated.

Enjoy

dude I really hope she can win a case against the ATF that she make an "illegal" sbr, but for lawful intentions. Improbable, but that would be great for all of us you know?

I hear with a lot of gun cases especially involving the ATF intent is extremely important. But also how ironic would it be if someone whose platform is more gun control inadvertently creates a context in which there is less gun control?

What would be even greate for all of us, is if there was no government!

PS @roofcore will you do me a favor and post this in a couple AR15 groups on Facebook? I'm on a 30 day ban.
