Sail away from slavery!!!
Life began in the desert for me, literally. Born inland to impoverished, hard working people whose narratives impressed upon me with "can't afford it" ...my present story is as unlikely as any, and I hope that it serves to inspire someone to reach beyond the impossible and "live the dream".
My name is Pete. I'm a USCG licensed captain and I live on my Westsail 32' Meridian at Kona Kai Resort and Spa in San Diego California.
The first part of my life was essentially spent, learning what it was that I DID NOT want. I'll be 40 years old this October on the 26th and I intend to spend the rest of it sharing all that I DO WANT, with you! That, I will begin with the above image; the bowsprit, samson posts and boomkin that I custom built for Meridian early on in her re-fit. Much has changed since then! But we've got to start this tale some place. I do hope that you'll follow along ...this story gets a little weird and mostly it won't seem at all that it's about sailing around the world...
