I like your post. Though I think there are many who do not possess forethought or compassion for their fellow man and therefor we wouldn't have enough to provide for essential services or things like education and value adding research if things were voluntaryist. If there is a right outcome than perhaps the second wrong as you call it could bring about a right, yes. Was robinhood a villian? If cigarettes increase the burden on the healthcare system and on socialized premiums is it not fair to tax such a thing if it were to recoup that loss? It should probably go towards subsidizing premiums in this instance. And what of a corporation which uses its leverage to set contracts and unreasonable prices upon its consumer? Of increased efficiencies yet increasing prices? Does a massive profit indicate a lesser value of service/product which should be levied for other social benefits? Is it possible or even fair to determine a price cap to be imposed on a corporation's good or service? Of splitting them up and reducing efficiencies? Taxation seems the best scenario in a capitalistic society. Though less taxes on the middle and lower working classes seems prudent. A capitalistic socialism where we determine the markets and enforce efficiencies(which are barriers to entry) to be given back to consumers. Who's the biggest advocate for small government? Big business which wants to abuse their power.
