Steemit Epiphany

in #anarchism8 years ago

I've had a couple of epiphanies this evening with regard to Steemit. Rather than look at the success of your posts in terms of payment or "up votes", look at it from the angle of service to others. By doing this, you are successful no matter what. Even if you've helped only one person at any level, you will have met your goal. Through this approach, your whole reason for posting becomes far more dynamic, and I think more effective. And in the end, your material will be of a higher caliber, and easier to produce.

The other epiphany I've had is with regard to the comments. You may struggle to know what to write for a main post, and you can't always be sure there is an audience that will appreciate it. But when you read the posts of others who ask questions, or the comments of posts that ask questions, you will have received a gift on a golden platter. In this case, you have a specific question from someone you know really wants an answer. And since you're seeking out people who want help, if you truly want to help them, you won't take shortcuts or half-ass your response. You will take your time and provide them everything you can. And there's a bit of potential magic that can come out of this. In the end, what is the difference between a quality post that helps, and a quality comment that helps? Nothing. And that being the case, if you work hard to help others with your comments, I think you might find that you're actually producing amazing material for your next main post. If what you're saying in the comments is helpful, why can it not be equally as helpful as a headliner? And for those who know the value of having a muse, you might find it similar in that the person with a question becomes your muse. As you write for them in your comment (one-on-one), you pull from that energy of knowing you will have an appreciative recipient of your work. Tap into that. Leverage it. And if you can answer their follow up questions, you become even more valuable to them. Why would they not "follow" you after you've been so helpful? And so your networking begins. Then repeat.

That's why I've been making tutorials for steemit/crypto newbies. I'm no expert but I like to share what I've learned and know that there are minnows who appreciate it.

And hey, they might not always be minnows!

Good encouragement. I actually get a lot of ideas from commenting on other people's posts, and from reacting to the replies of friends on the items I post- even if I'm just reposting an article written by someone else.

I never really took the time to write fully formed essays on FB though, the potential audience reach is very limited.

Great post. I have not been Active more than a day and read just a few posts but I get the exact same feeling, people are here to give. And by that you will recieve.
When I learned about Steem from @dollarvigilante I didn´t have a clue what I should do still wanting to be a part of the Steem Community. But now I know: To help and inspire others.
Looking forward to more posts from you.
Andy

Good advice @defiant - I have answer your question back even before I read this ..and i added you to follow on top of it as I liked the post and some of your others

This is the most supportive community Ive been involved in.. Write compelling stories from the heart and mind and you will find a niche and be rewarded for your conversations.. I feel Steemit talks with people rather than at them.

Steemit will be the next Facebook, when we get paid, not the corporate masters.

Synereo should be producing their version of social medium soon. It will be interesting to see what they bring to the table as well. And they are currently at .10 cents. If you don't know about Synereo, let me know, and I'll get you some links. Its been getting a lot of buzz for awhile now and could be profitable if you load up while its dirt cheap.

Interesting to finally see competition here. We shall see which one triumphs. The days of Fecesbook hegemony will be over!

That's what I'm hoping for freddy008. Ultimately, it would be nice to see FB collapse.

They will, the amount of censorship they are doing are now annoying even for the most brainwashed person.

Plus the money incentive, i think we have good odds to beat the giants.

Jon. Can't find the follow button on this page to follow you. Reply to a comment so I dan click the deop down from it. This platform has potential, but needs work.

Here you go Johncowell. If you click on the names of those posting, it should give you the option to follow. And when someone hasn't posted anything yet, they will have a follow button at the top right of the screen.
