Have you ever thought about how weird is that bridges are an attraction?
I mean, let's be real where is the fun?! Bridges all around the world have some kind of meaning, not just crossing it over,
but they all have their story. That is actually the answer to my question. The story of the bridges is the point, the construction, the meaning…
all these things are important and useful so you can enjoy touring around the city and exploring bridges. It can be fun, and you will have that fun.
Because it is time to go on a vacation, probably you haven’t been to Venezuela, but it is the right place to spend your vacation.
It has so much to offer, and you will be literally amazed. By everything. It has a special vibe, and you will feel like you are at home.
Which is not a bad idea. Vacations have to feel “like home”, you don’t want to feel bad or disappointed while you are on your vacation.
That is why the feeling “like home” is important because that is the only place where you can be what you really are, have comfort and flexibility.
Venezuela is beautiful, from the architecture to the greenery, but there is a city in Venezuela that will catch your heart. Maracaibo city.
You have it all, parks, museums, lake, bridges, nice food, architecture, very amiable people, and so much more.
But while you are there, there is something you can miss, and that is the Lake Maracaibo. Just look up, and you will see the bridge. The Puente Rafael Urdaneta bridge.
If you translate the name, it is The General Rafael Urdaneta Bridge.
The location of the bridge is just in the center, if you need a map, check out the following link,

It is located at the Tablazo Strait outlet of Lake Maracaibo, which is the western part of the city. This bridge has a big role, it literally connects Maracaibo with the rest of the country.
Probably thinking, what kind of name does this bridge have?
Well, it has a special name, it was named after the General Rafael Urdaneta, who was a Venezuelan hero in the War of Independence.
Imagen not seeing this bridge? It would be a mistake! It has a huge name and so much “responsibility”.
Maybe wondering “it is just a bridge”, well… my dear once, let me quote the words of a man that was in Maracaibo,
“Excellent sight from both sides when you are driving on the bridge is one of the most complete sights of the Maracaibo's lake. It is a MUST when you are near Zulia state.”
I think his words say it all … but you want to hear more? Eminent bridge engineer Michel Virlogeux said
“The Lake Maracaibo Bridge deserves to be part of the series of the most famous bridges over the world, with the Golden Gate Bridge,
the bridge over the Fifth of Fourth, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Garabit Viaduct.” I think these words say more than enough.
You will see the shining spot during the night, and that is the Lake Maracaibo Bridge.
