Amazing nature - Spring waterbirds

in #amazingnature5 years ago

Nature is A M A Z I N G ! Even if I must stay at home! No, not yet, because I can still go out for long walks.
This evening I would like to show you two wetland habitats in our city, Székesfehérvár. Why wetlands? Because water is life, life is water! If the aquatic life is protected, biodiversity can grow
Yesterday I walked to Sóstó, a protected nature reserve in the city. On a small lake, I saw thousands of birds. A few decades ago, it was a deserted area overgrown with non-native plants. These plants have been suppressed by now and the lake is alive again!

Coots could also be found, but they were shy, I could only catch one. You can see the tiny waterdrops on the bird's feather, which is waterproof.

Today I went to another direction, to the quarry-lake of Székesfehérvár where I met some beautiful swans, white and black, and some cute ducks, too.Unlike shallow Sóstó, the quarry-lake is very deep.

Black swans are smaller than white swans and they came from Australia. They are so elegant and decorative, and not so agressive as white ones. I prefer them!
