FESTO ROBOTIC BIRD—"An inspiration from nature produces a revolution to aviation"!!!

We all know that since the the time of the Wright brothers and the creation of the first aircraft, The production and design of planes has grown rapidly and all of these planes are fixed wings and we also know that when we talk about aviation, about 80% of what we think of are planes while the remaining 20% goes to drones and some other unmanned vehicles........ But this company "FESTO" has revolutionalized aviation by creating this smartbird on which most orinthopter designs are gotten from.

FESTO smart bird is am autonomous orinthopter which moves by actively flapping it's wing like a real bird which enables it to fly. FESTO smart bird was inspired by the . herring gull a very agile bird with aerodynamic structures for efficient flight this robotic bird also possess this characteristics, with it's aerodynamic structures and abilities it is able to overcome high wind conditions and safely navigate through the air.
This robotic bird weighing "450 grams" is able to take off and land safely without external mechanisms, it has a wing span of 1.96meters gives it a suitable agility and flight to carry its weight.

WING MOVEMENT

The movement of its wing is done using an active articulated torsion drive which produces lift and propulsion. This mechanism helps the smart bird in both forward flight and in gaining height . The flight of this bird is synchronized with its tail and head movement like the real bird i.e has the tail tilts rightward the head moves rightwards and as the tail tilts leftward its head also turns to the left, the same also applies from both "up and down".

During flight other information are gotten constantly to monitor it's behavior, some of Them are "wing position, battery charge status, height and speed (depending on some varying wind conditions). These set of data are continuously recorded and monitored I'm real time.
