NEWS
1) Japan’s Leading Low-Cost Airline Details Plan to Accept Bitcoin:
Peach Aviation has recently clarified its plan to accept bitcoin for airline tickets. This is in response to recent media reports that suggest that the company may be halting its plan to accept the digital currency following the hack of a major Japanese bitcoin exchange, Coincheck – where 58 billion yen (~USD$527 million) worth of NEM were stolen. Peach and Bitpoint ( Japanese Exchange) plan to jointly implement various initiatives such as installing bitcoin ATMs (BTMs) at airports as well as introducing bitcoin payments at souvenir shops, restaurants, and accommodation facilities.
This plan has been postponed, the reason for the postponement is “the fluctuation of the bitcoin market [which] has been intensifying since the end of 2017,” she said, noting that the company would “like to start the service [but is] waiting for the market to settle.” Peach also denied any reports of it abandoning the bitcoin payment plan. “I’m actually preparing the settlement system,” the spokeswoman was quoted by the news outlet.

2) Crowdfire founder Nischal Shetty to launch India's wazirx bitcoin exchange :
Formerly known as JustUnfollow, Crowdfire currently serves more than 19 million users around the world. Shetty, along with fellow Crowdfire co-founders Anirudh Khusape, Sameer Mhatre and Siddharth Menon, built WazirX in response to the current exchange standards in India.
It was this frustration that led Shetty and his team to build WazirX. The platform is chock full of features, including:
* Best in class security
* Fast KYC processes that take just hours instead of days
* Lightning fast transaction speeds
* Simple and intuitive dashboards and interface design
* Mobile apps for Android and iOS devices

3) Bitcoin is the new locker room talk for some NFL players—here's what they're saying:
The volatile asset has also recently caught the attention of some of the nation's most prominent athletes, according to NFL star Richard Sherman, a cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks.
"Especially the way bitcoin boomed from nothing to ... $19,000 at one point, that really caught the eye of a lot of people," Sherman tells CNBC Make It. "Ever since then it has been common conversation for a lot of us."
Sherman, who began accepting bitcoin for merchandise on his website as early as 2014, is currently recovering from an injury to his Achilles tendon, and is using his time off to study cryptocurrency. He's also a spokesperson for the exchange platform Cobinhood, and an investor in the company's coin, COB.

4) Major Cryptocurrency Exchange Bittrex To Add USD Trading, Reopen New User Sign-ups:
Bill Shihara, CEO of Bittrex, confirmed during a Unikrn Radio podcast with Unikrn CEO Rahul Sood on Jan. 31 that the Bittrex exchange will be opening up USD trading to the majority of its customers. Bittrex made the news in October 2017 for its sudden decision to disable thousands of accounts for compliance reviews without warning its users in advance.
Perhaps due to this customer service hiccup, the exchange announced in December 2017 that it had temporarily stopped taking on new users, citing the backlog of user support tickets and their current inability to accurately verify each new user with such high demand.
5) UNICEF Asks PC Gamers To Mine Ethereum And Donate To Syrian Children:
UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) has started a new kind of charity drive for Syrian children, asking PC gamers to use their computers to mine Ethereum and donate their earnings.
The two-month long charity campaign that began Feb. 2, dubbed Game Chaingers, is aimed at gamers that use high level graphics cards capable of cryptocurrency mining, turning the cards into “humanitarian tool[s]:”
Donations work in the following way: when participating gamers take a break from their computers or go to sleep, they can turn on UNICEF’s Ethereum mining program, thus donating without giving away anything but access to their computer’s processing power.

6)Cryptocurrency scams on Twitter are so common, this guy built a tool to help detect fraudsters:
As members of the cryptocurrency community look to curb fraud and exploitation in the emerging community, Harry Denley has come up with a rather old-school solution: JavaScript.
Denley’s script, EtherSecurityLookup, runs as a browser extension on Google Chrome.
The extension catches Twitter accounts that impersonate established users or companies. In the crypto community, this is usually done to plug fraudulent projects, or just straight up ask strangers to send them money.
In some cases, the fraudsters often promote a specific cryptocurrency, and then sell their personal stashes once their false endorsements send the price skyrocketing. In others, they create a fake company and raise money for a fraudulent initial coin offering (ICO), before disappearing.
Denley said that the newer EtherSecurityLookup stemmed from an episode where Vitalik Buterin, the high-profile developer behind Ethereum, complained about being impersonated.
