Acid's Crypto Picks - Jewels (JWL)

I want to start off with this one new interesting currency I stumbled upon a few days ago called Jewels.
Unfortunately I missed the ICO, their goal was 200 btc to further fund the platform and the games on it. The ICO brought in 366 BTC and exceeded the ICO goal by a large margin!

Now let's look at some info about the currency.

Total coins created: 20,000,000 JWL
Algorithm: PoS v3
**Reward: 0.5 JWL per block
Block Time: 1 minute
Dev Funds: 1,000,000 JWL
Paypal Reserve Fund: 1,000,000 JWL

With this info in mind, we know that 18,000,000 Jewel coins were sold in the ICO for 366 BTC, that brings the price of the ICO per coin to 0.00002030 BTC (2030 satoshi) each.

Currently the only exchange selling JWL is yobit.net (the reputation of this exchange isn't the best, so make sure not to leave funds there for too long) and has an average price of 2k satoshis the last couple of days. So according to how the ICO went, the current price is still somewhat the same.

Research

Before I invest in any asset, I do research. I finished reading most of the Bitcointalk thread and went on to check out the game Apex Conquer which has been running for 18 months and maintained a healthy profit margin according to "Pro4Never" who is the creator of the game and the one maintaining it alone.

There is a patch coming up in the upcoming month called "Heroes" and after playing Apex for a little while I am actually really looking forward to Heroes, plus since they will integrate Jewels with the expansion!

What's even more exciting is that they are planning on creating an entirely new game built from the ground up called "Project Rebirth" and for that Pro4Never wants to assemble a team skilled individuals who want to help build it up from scratch.

I was a bit careful with this one since I noticed the bitcointalk thread was self-moderated (seen a lot of devs who have abused this in the past) but after researching more about the creator and his history and youtube channel. It had me convinced that this Project sounds legit and that they will use the funds for further development. I also checked out their forum which seemed to be alive and well (also his account on the popular forum ElitePvPers seemed genuine).

I noticed they had now started selling the 1,000,000 reserve funds for Paypal, and that's great news for non-crypto users who will be introduced to it thanks to the game!

Conclusion

It passed my legitimacy test! But like most investments, never place more money than you can afford to lose. This is very important since the outcome and future of this currency can rely on so many different things. But if you do decide to invest, make sure to buy them off the exchange, and send them over to your local wallet for safe-keeping (Link to a Windows pre-compiled wallet)
I myself have 2 different hardrives, one for the older and well-established currencies, the other for the newer ones. Most currencies are stored on their own wallets.

An additional note, I ran into this currency a few days ago and before I even had the "Acid's Crypto Picks" idea I bought some for myself (only 0.01 btc worth) but decided now that I wrote this down to buy a bit more.

Remember this will be a long-term investment, and if I do end up buying more at some point I will announce it in these posts and also update on how all investments are standing.

And for an end to this article I wanted to share a screenshot of my own character in the game! I really like it so far, the combat reminds me of Diablo mixed with League of Legends and I really see this game have a bright future and looking forward to Project Rebirth!
