An Ideal Old School Meets New School Off Grid Kitchen and Cooking
From pizza to BBQ and baking all can be easily done with out electricity.
It's more old school and some of it I'm sure is illegal due to safety concerns, you'll see.
This place is getting old. It was built with the most modern furnishings available at the time. Some of it's been replaced and more modern things have been added since; which I will touch more on in future posts.
Let's start with this contraption of a stove. It's both propane gas and in the same steel box is a wood stove. Now, I'm not a safety technician but this combination just seems like an accident waiting to happen. Both side are frequently used and never had a problem. The oven works perfect too after 80+ years. Talk about built to last.
You can't have a modern kitchen without a fridge that can keep ice cream cold in the box. Plus, it's not a home without random stuff stuck to it with magnets. This is also propane.
Outside there's full sized BBQ, propane because it burns cleaner than charcoal. Trying to think of a suitable Hank Hill quote but it alludes me for now. The right comment would get a nice upvote.
And the stone slab pizza oven. Works like a charm if you can make the dough. Its makes a nice evenly cooked crust. It might take a few a while to get used too if you're new to using one like this.
Since solar power came along this place has gone through serious modernization. All the lights are now led instead of gas.
What's your off grid retreat cooking with?
Got a secret to making off grid life a little more convenient?
Doctor: "what's the matter? Smelling all that propane gave you brain damage" Hank Hill: " No, that is not accurate! Those studies were done on sick monkeys."
haha, that's the one!
Haha I never heard of this charachter before, but you peaked my interest, and there sure are a lot of epic quotes from him lol
It's a classic.
