Allodium Blockchain Report - Week #205 Ending Sep 13th 2021

As summer is winding down, the focus at OG∆ has been on sealing up the Entry Hall.

A few finishes remain on this face, but it is mostly sealed.

The two windows and 1 door pictured are all recycled and were free!

A loft was erected to make use of the high ceilings.

Lumber prices have returned from the stratosphere, which prompted this idea.

The front gate, featured in the previous block, is beginning to get its outer coat of mortar.

After the first batch

Days later, after the outer coat had cured, the gate was unscrewed and now swings freely!

A little bit of light is visible through the peep-hole on the right.

A video was made of the gate's first swing!

This window opening also got tackled in the last week.
205f.jpg
Starting with hanging, bending and cutting remesh; proceeding to cutting lath to shape and securing it to the remesh.

Next step was to build a frame for the window and tie it into the steel.
205g.jpg
The window was wedged in there early on to ensure the frame remained square.

With enough steel in place, it's time to rock it in!
205h.jpg
Stairs that kind of turn into a ladder are also being added to the wall under the window.

After a few coats of mortar, the wall section around the window is almost complete, and the stairs/ladder can support bodyweight.

Over in the middle bay of the Entry Hall, a bit of dirt was cut out, and rocks stacked to extend the retaining wall.
205j.jpg
This is getting done slowly; as rocks pile up, this is the best way to organize them!

Once covered with mortar, the beauty of the stacked rocks is lost; replaced with strength and durability in unity.

This area, I have lovingly called "the water feature" for years; although it has more resembled a pile of trash mixed with a big scummy puddle for much of that time...
205l.jpg

Well, I am finally starting to realize my vision for this water feature.
205m.jpg
Notice the tirewall which is now dividing the area in 2- 1 side for the fishes and 1 side for the 2-leggeds.

I will fit a drawbridge into this castle if it's the last thing I do!!!

This area is where the dirt for the tires is coming from.
