Alcohol: pleasure seeker or spiritual killer

in #alcohol7 years ago

There are numerous articles about the danger of illegal drugs, hearing stories about lengthy prison terms for people caught with even a few grams of cannabis, but what about alcohol? The drug which the government think it is OK for you to consume.

Although it is legal and produced in mass all over the world, there are only a few people who consider or understand the dangers of the effect on your body, your mental health and the spiritual consequences of drinking alcohol.

Etymology

The word "alcohol" is from the Arabic kohl (Arabic: الكحل‎, translit. al-kuḥl‎), a powder used as an eyeliner. Al- is the Arabic definite article, equivalent to the in English. Alcohol was originally used for the very fine powder produced by the sublimation of the natural mineral stibnite to form antimony trisulfide Sb2S3, hence the essence or "spirit" of this substance. It was used as an antiseptic, eyeliner, and cosmetic. The meaning of alcohol was extended to distilled substances in general, and then narrowed to ethanol, when "spirits" was a synonym for hard liquor.

There are people who claim that the Arabic word “al-kuhl” means “Body Eating Spirit”, and gives root origins to the English term for “ghoul”. A ghoul, grave destroyer or corpse is a fictional monster that plays a role in many folk tales spread around the world. It is a demonic giant or undead creature that would feed on human flesh.
But after some research I can tell you that this info is incorrect. It's origin comes from the Arabic word gūl.

The negative effect drinking even in moderation, alcohol has on the hippocampus is shown to cause problems such a slurred speech, memory problems and even blackouts.

In the words of writer and health enthusiast, Jason Christoff – “In alchemy, alcohol is used to extract the soul essence of an entity.

In the Bible in 1 Corinthians 3:16:
Do you not know that you yourselves are God's temple, and that God's Spirit dwells in you?

So when people consume excessive amounts of alcohol and often black out, don't remember what happened. Could it be that the spirit/soul has left because the living conditions are too polluted and too traumatic to tolerate?

A 2017 study published in The BMJ has shown just how closely brain problems and drinking alcohol are linked.
“The study followed 550 men and women for 30 years, measuring their brain structure and function to determine how alcohol use affects the mind over time.

What they found is that the more people drank, the more atrophy occurred in the brain’s hippocampus, a seahorse-shaped structure in your brain that plays a role in storing memories.

The highest risk was for people who drank 17 standard drinks or more of alcohol per week. But even people who drank moderately saw an elevated risk for cognitive changes.”

Many cases of depression are closely linked with alcohol consumption, as people to drink as a way of escaping, which then leads them into a downward spiral.

One of the benefits people document when they quit drinking is just how clear headed they feel , something they didn’t realize they were missing out on before.

There are many detrimental long term effects to drinking alcohol, but society seem to have accepted them as drinking alcohol is drug that we are allowed to indulge in. Makes you wonder if there is an agenda seeking to oppress the human potential and keep us “in the dark” regarding who we are as spiritual beings, our innate potential, and the path to empowerment.

owww thank you, means a lot

Excellent write-up Evie! I learned a lot about the word "alcohol" and where it came from. Thanks for the detailed information and linking all of this together. I enjoyed reading it! xx

Oh thank you♡

I refuse to drink because of what it does to me.

Good read, and well researched. There are some health benefits to the occasional glass of red wine, and once in a while it's fun to let loose (responsibly, I must add), but over indulgence in anything can lead to major problems down the road.

My ex is a prime example of someone who excessively drinks and then goes into a depression in an endless circle. I was being dragged down with the constant battles that I had no choice but to leave. Alcholol effects people in many ways and drinking spirits is the worst thing for the body. Beer is an ancient drink but again too much and your on a bad path. Red wine is the Best and that is why it says do not hurt the vine nor the olives.

Glad you aren't in that bad situation anymore . I always say everything goes just don't go overboard. I think moderation is the word?

Good message... So many of the younger generation today can easily fall into a system of binge drinking, some people are even proud of it. But sadly, alcohol abuse can destroy a person and even tear families apart... :(

Interesting theory you have here about Alcohol and the soul, sister Judi. I believe the Anunnaki were the ones that created Beer though, yeah? I would like to see the Imperial Regents take on this.

Your idea of blacking out leads to the soul leaving the body is interesting, and it begs for deeper thought.

Thank you, it is Evie :-), looking forward to the input of AD :-)
