I have received money from a client through Western Union twice. I had to go to the bank on both periods. The funny thing is not all banks in Nigeria process Western Union payments. For some reason, Guaranty Trust bank doesn't, as big as they are.

How do I receive Western Union Payments from Home?

Once you have uploaded and filled your details, your account will be verified to receive Western Union Payments and unlocked to other cool features.
How Much Would I Pay to Receive Western Union Payments in Nigeria?
The conversion is usually stated by Western Union during the transfer and the sender pays the processing fee as well. It is also stated on Western Union's website that US dollar payments in Nigeria are available at no charge to the receiver. So you don't have to worry about this. The sender pays the transaction fees.

Here is a list of banks that process Western Union payments in Nigeria (According to Westernunion.com). You can walk into any of these banks to receive your payments and you would not be required to pay any transaction fees.

You would notice Wema bank is on the list. They own ALAT.
