Akon Launches "Akoin" Cryptocurrency

One of the world's leading singers with over 12 billboard top ten hits Akon who is famous for his hit song "smack that" and "put the blame on me" has revealed that he will be creating his own cryptocurrency. The Senegalese singer revealed that the cryptocurrency would be used in his "Akon crypto city" in Africa. While speaking to various newsmen and correspondents in Cannes Lion the Senegalese singer revealed that this new cryptocurrency would be available in two weeks time for use in the 2,000 acres of land that was given him by the president of the country. This new cryptocurrency has been described as a 100% crypto-based coin to be used in the city. This crypto would be used at the centre of the financial and transactional life at the same time integrating a smart city design as well as a canvas for the cryptonizing of the daily business and human exchange towards inventing and maintaining a revolutionized way of doing things.

This world-renowned singer has been known for bringing several projects to people in Africa. Through a Lightning Solar Project, Akon brought solar power to Africa. He said that bringing this cryptocurrency to Africa will help empower the general public. He stated that he thinks that the blockchain technology and its associated cryptocurrency could prove to be a savior to people in Africa as it would bring back the power to the people. He went on to reveal that this cryptocurrency would also bring back the trust that people had in financial institutions, and that it would help people to make use of it in so many ways. He also noted that he came up with the concept and that he is leaving the geeks to figure out how best to make it a reality.

While speaking Akon went further to reveal that there is a possibility that he might run for president of the United States in 2020 and that it would be great to see a debate between himself, the current president Donald Trump and the rapper Kanye West who has also shown interest in running for the position. He further revealed that the debate would be centered on him and that he would come up with a plan that would work.

This new plan revealed by Akon would help be one way in which Africans can get access to cryptocurrencies and enjoy the numerous benefits it offers. This new crypto platform would be used in the Akon city and we do not know if in the future it would be used in other cities around the continent. This new move made by Akon has been applauded by many while some have criticized his actions especially when he mentioned that he might contest for the president of the United States in 2020.
