Air Pen

Strong magnets are needed to stop the pen in the air. You can find the most suitable magnets for this job on the speakers. Find and dismantle an old speaker with four outputs of the same size. You will need a screwdriver to open the speaker cabinet and a screwdriver and hammer to remove the parts inside. You must have a large magnet with a hole in the middle.

In addition to four of these large magnets, you will need two smaller magnets. You can also get them through the speakers. Find a 12 x 7 cm cardboard, draw two lines 3 cm from both ends, then draw two more lines 1 cm from each side. Move the magnets closer to each other to find out which percentage of the pole. Stick two of the magnets to the north pole and the other two to the south pole with double-sided tape.

Attach two north magnets to one end of the carton. So that they touch the lines you draw. Now place the other “south” magnets so that they touch the lines again. There must be a distance of 1 cm between magnets with the same polarity.

Stick a small cardboard vertically to one end of the base. Insert the pen through the two small magnets and insert the tip into the vertical cardboard. Adjust the magnets so that the pen is in the air.
Insert the magnets into the pen, then adjust until the pen stops in the air.

Briefly; Two north-pole magnets and two south-pole magnets create a magnetic field that pushes up from the base. This area pushes up the two magnets in the pen and the pen, which should normally fall, is suspended because it is stuck to the cardboard with the tip vertical and hangs above the base.
