ACRIMONY THE MOVIE
Hell hath no Fury was the movie theme, but well, Tyler Perry sure knows a thing or two about giving movies a title and a theme. Written and directed by Perry — alongside Crystle Stewart, Jazmyn Simon, Ptosha Storey, Ajiona Alexus, Antonio Madison, Bresha Webb, Danielle Nicolet, Nelson Estevez, and Kendrick Cross. Incredulous and an escapist fantasy, - having a bowl of pop-corn and a drink - ACRIMONY comes across as a practically-trademark brand of wild valued clap-back entertainment.
Taraji Penda Henson whom most of us know as the Empire Golden Globe award winner, also starring in the Empire movie series plays an uncanny role of how much betrayal a woman can take before pushing back. For me, as a fan of Neo - Noir movies and lover of Nina Simone artistry, this very movie got me feeling good like am inna - you know!. As a matter of fact, I would be seeing the movie again this week, and if you are a resident in the city of Port-Harcourt, kindly leave a comment/reaction (I got to pick the best reaction from the first 20 comments).
With a lucky draw now open, most times, you wonder who gives the ratings, but this movie is what every person of colour should see. I mean, such life related experience leaves so many messages in that movie for the black woman and the black family structure which is something that we all can learn from; in such a way, it deepens our belief system to hang on - right there, just there, when it all appears we don't know which way we are going, not to talk of where we're coming from(citing what we've been through in the past).
Money Can't Buy Me Love, sang the Beatles but it seems it can certainly create a lot of ACRIMONY where Love once existed. Not always do I talk about a movie that I viewed past-week at the Genesis Deluxe Cinemas, G.R.A, Port-Harcourt but a movie as good as this one, seriously got me telling most of my female colleagues and friends to go see ACRIMONY - It's a must see,I tell 'em.
That's good you've got cinemas in your hometown. Guess what? No single cinema in Aceh province, at least for about 2 decades now.
About the movie, I can see that you love it so much. Reading your article, I can tell that it is my kind of movie as well. Thanks for writing.
Wow!. That's so cool to know you are a lover of neo-noir kind of movies. If there's no cinema in Aceh province (with good rewards, you might be setting up cinema in Aceh someday), there may be one in the region. Nevertheless, ACRIMONY is a good movie - it's a must see.
I love movies when they have good stories. I don't really take genres as matter. The info about casts and storyline are the basic info that influence me to watch or not to. Thank God people keep posting good info about movies on wikipedia. As a movie lover, I found them useful. And so is your article.
Thanks.
