"AIR-CLINIC WRITING CONTEST : EMERGENCY! ! EMERGENCY! !"
One friday night, I and my friend left our hostel for the club . We got to the club few minutes later and we entered the club. We went to the bar to get a few drinks after which we headed for the dance floor and started dancing. So far, we were having so much fun dancing and rocking with some guys in the club.
All of a sudden my friend started screaming and I was shocked, I asked her what the problem was but she was clutching her abdomen and I could see that she was in severe pain. I looked to the floor and saw a pool of blood and discovered that blood was rushing down my friend’s legs. I started shouting for help and people around us discovered what was happening and started calling an ambulance. Few minutes later the blood on the floor was so much and my friend collapsed on the floor. I tried calling her but she wasn’t responding, I started panicking because she looked so pale and sick.
Immediately the ambulance came and the paramedics came into the club and carried my friend into the ambulance and I also joined her. The paramedics were trying to resuscitate my friend on the way to the hospital. We got to the hospital and my friend was taken to the Emergency Unit and the doctors and the nurses tried to stabilise her. After administering fluids and transfusion to her she came out of the critical stage.
The doctor and nurses ran some tests on my friend and told me she had ruptured ectopic pregnancy and that she collapsed due to shock from the excessive blood loss. They said a surgery was to be carried out immediately to remove the affected fallopian tube and the ectopic pregnancy. He said the surgery was called salphingectomy. She was rushed to the operating room and after several hours the doctor came out and told me that the surgery was successful. I was relieved because I was so scared to lose my friend. She was admitted for 2weeks after which she was discharged.
