FOR THIS WEEK, HERE ARE THE CASES FOR YOU TO ATTEMPT.
Case 1
>A 15yr old boy was brought into the emergency room this morning, his relative said he complained of severe abdominal pain throughout yesterday. He confirmed that the pain was first noticed around his navel but later settled in the right side of his lower abdomen.
>
>He confirmed that he had a high body temperature at night and did not have an appetite for food. Thirty minutes ago, he started vomiting and complained that his abdominal pain is getting worse so his father had to rush him to the hospital for proper care.
- What do you think is this boy’s medical problem (diagnosis)?
- If you were a doctor, how would you solve the problem?
- What lessons have you learned from this story?
Case 2
>A woman came into the hospital with her 3yrs old son. The baby was said to have had a cough 7 days ago which resolved after she gave him cough syrup she procured from the nearby drug store.
>
>Three days ago, the baby started running temperature (fever) which subsides each time she gave him syrup paracetamol. However, since yesterday the fever got worse and refused to go down even after taking the paracetamol.
>
>This afternoon the baby started rolling up his eyes and at the same time tilting his neck backward, stretching the hands and legs with occasional jerks which made the mother to rush him to the hospital.

INTERVIEW SEGMENT
For this week’s TETE-A-TETE segment, meet our guest...@mr-sakariyau
Tell us about yourself
> I am Abdulwasiu Omotosho SAKARIYAU from Kwara State of Nigeria. I am a Microbiologist. My steemit username is @mr-sakariyau. I obtained my first and second degrees from University of Ilorin and Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta respectively. I enjoy doing scientific research and I watch sports events too.
Why do you love @air-clinic?
> Air-clinic provides the opportunity of meeting medical enthusiasts. It brings health-related matters and knowledge of medicine closer to all users. Even if one doesn't want to read one will do because of the AIRCOIN.
High and low point on steemit
> My low point came when I made my first 2 posts. These posts took much time but attracted no upvote no comment. The high point came when I joined @stemng discord channel. I became much recognized by other steemians and my subsequent posts were highly rewarding.
How do you balance your steemit life and real life
> It's a little bit complicated.
When my real life task demands much time, I give it much time and vice versa
Motivation to study your career.
>From the onset I was never motivated to study Microbiology, Medicine is always my choice. I was denied admission to study Medicine twice but I was later offered admission to study Microbiology. I accepted the offer and I enjoyed it. The motivation came in the process of learning.
Challenges/survival story in your specialty
> Major challenges in Microbiology is the cost implications and availability of equipment for microbiological researches. During my Masters degree, I visited several universities in search of a machine to carry out a particular analysis. Some colleagues sent their samples abroad while some improvised. We surely survived!
Final words
> Knowledge is the greatest resource of man. Let's keep learning, it adds value to life.
