The Lessons we can learn from the Most Admired Man in the world.
Who is the most admired man in the world?
The recent survey throughout the world points to Tun Dr Mahathir, the 93 years old politician, who is just been installed as the new and 7th prime minister of Malaysia, as the most admired man in the world. He gathers about 12% of the popular votes and Bill Gates gets 8%. These two great personalities are the two most admired men in the world. Why is Tun Dr Mahathir the most admired man in the world?
Who is Tun Dr Mahathir?
He was formerly the president of the United Malay National Organisation (UMNO) in Malaysia and Mahathir Mohamad led Malaysia from 1981 to 2003 as the 4th prime minister. A lots of development took place during his tenure, transforming a backward country into a modern Malaysia. He retired in 2003 and 15 years later he is back as the 7th prime minister of the country leading the opposition coalition of Hope (Pakatan Harapan) to topple the Barisan government led by UMNO, his former party. He is now 93 years old and is still slim and healthy, full of enthusiasm and dynamism.
Why did he make a come back?
The just toppled government was led by one of his successors Mr Nazib Razak, (the eldest son of the 2nd prime minister Tun Abdul Razak). The ex-prime minister was accused of being a kleptocrat and a murderer but the crimes were never investigated because he was in power and his cronies did not have the courage to take up the cases.
Who is the ex-prime minister Mr Nazib Razak?
This is the picture of the ex-prime minister of Malaysia from 2009 to 9th of May 2018.
After ruling the country for 61 years, the UMNO led government had full control of all the machineries of the government and most of the head of departments are actually headed by people from UMNO.
There is no separation of power among the judiciary, executive, legislative and others in the government machineries. Even the Registration of Society (ROS), the Election Commission, The MACC (Investing corruption agency) and others are control by the prime minister.
In short there is no rule and order (laws are bent to suit the government) and the prime minister acts according to his whims and fancy and prosecutions are focused on the opposition members.
With the new government, the coalition of hope (Pakatan Harapan) led by an experience 93 years old ex-prime minister, who was formerly accused of as a dictator and he was also accused of corruption. May be it takes a thief to catch another thief. It will be interesting to follow the events that are going to unflod.
