Did You Know That Dr. Mae Jemison Was The First African American Woman In Space?
When talking about Africa, we generally don't get to say much about its awesomeness as much as we tend to highlight its lows. Well, Africa has prominence as well in breakthroughs and success. Yes, same as many will instantly remember the Safaris upon hearing "Africa", they will also go "Africa is rich in mineral resource". But how about human capital? Well, no doubt they excel in this regard too. It is not news to here of many successful men and women all around the world steming from African roots. A large portion of USA are descendants of Africa! Hahaha, many of them don't know it or refute it; so let's simply call them African-Americans.
And in this post, we will cover an Africa-American female sensation who has been to space. Well, going to space is an enormous feat. Not only, does it involve enormous risk of physical danger, health hazards or crash, it can be life-changing or even life-altering those require alot of mental toughness, self-belief and ambition and evidence of all these virtue is seen in Dr. Mae C. Jemison.
Ofcourse, among her many accomplishments is being the first Africa American woman to enter orbit. Basically, she believed that entering space was her destiny and though she had periods of decision throughout her secular and educational path, she ended up in space!
Yes, during her senior year of college, Dr. Mae C. Jemison contemplated between becoming a doctor or professional dancer and this was during a period that she was carrying out her scholarship in the study of chemical engineering and African/Afro-American studies in Stanford University, after she went on to become a doctor and she served in several countries in several countries including West Africa
Against all whirlwinds though, her love for space was deeply rooted and in 1992, she landed in space. Her love for dancing even, couldn't derail her but was evident during her trip to space as she took an Alvin Ailey Dance Company poster with her enroute space.

Africans generally, have shown themselves to also excel in various works of life and under various environments. Well, this can't be said to only be the case for Africans; for humans are the same regardless; only circumstances may differ. Overall though, what is pertinent from this post, is the value of focus and self-consciousness. Knowing who you are, helps with decision-making and makes your choices and levels of ambition to be at a maximal level, which is important, if one is to excel!
thanks for the info I never know that
That is an inspiring story. It is unfortunate that recognition for the black community is often slow in coming, especially since It is a community that has made a huge contribution in so many different areas.
Yes, a good story about a remarkable woman. Dedication and hard work gave her many options that she excelled in. Thanks! 🐓🐓
