Day 6 - 27/2

27/2/k2022

Up at 6am to get our gear all packed and ready for our next leg. Gave Reantha Maistry & Dinesha - Pinetown Sisters, some our Soothing Rub and said our Goodbyes to Les and Mani & Candice. Took some pics with Clive and then our Driver - Minenhle Advocate / Khuzwayo arrived to take us to Town -Mtunzi - and then through to Thonga Beach Lodge. it's about a 90km 4x4 sand track. We picked up some passenges to take to Town and off we headed into the unknown. We had our last dropoff and experienced the wonderful indigenous fruit, the locals call it "amathofa", tastes almost like pumpkin, has a bright orange colour and a pumpkin texture with 3 little black seeds. Bringing some home to see if we can plant them. My opinion, the fruit would make a wonderful pumpkin fritter or pie.Tooks some pics and off into the great wilderness. We arrived at Mabibi Camp around 1pm. Had a picnic lunch while the ladies were getting our accommodation ready. Unpacked, got into costumes and headed for the beach. Had a swim and then went up to the lodge. Got connected on the WiFi, told the family we safe & sound. Ian and I had a beer to load up the carbs. Met Fanele and Simz staff from Thonga Lodge. Fanele was wonderful with her assistance to get us on the wifi. Fanale also assisted us with sorting out our reservation that was given to us by Thonga. Thank you Thonga Beach Lodge & Mabibi Camp. Took a lazy stroll back to camp, to chill and make a nice home cooked meal with veggies. Been on the trail mix and seedbars for 2 evenings so far. #africannawalkszacoast
