THE EVOLUTION OF AFRICAN SOUND INTO WORLD MUSIC (PART 1)

Music, referred by many as a panacea for the soul has been for decades a source of inspiration, joy and satisfaction to all and sundry. You just cant help but embrace the dynamism of music and culture and how it has shaped world relations or years, whether be the serenading feelings brought about from the blues effect or the jivy vibe Pop music brings to your feet not to mention the culture of Hip-Hop as its own, there are but a lot of these we can dwell upon but specifically we are considering how the world has come to adopt the African sound and cant seem to get enough of it.

back in 2014, Nigerian Afro pop artiste released a single of his AYO album titled ojuelegba, months later it was featured on the maiden OVO radio podcast on Apple Music and before we knew what was going on boom there was a remix. was this the first time an African artiste got this close to world music? actually no!

the world has been embracing the vibe that African music passes out and most importantly the dance and the culture but what people seem not to recognize is the fact that this has been coming for a long time. The sound that comes out of Africa has not only gone to satisfy Africans living abroad but the natives cant get enough.
I am from Nigeria and i'm proud to say Nigeria is the chief exporter of world music as our music has been breaking boundaries and still is.
