Day 4/365 Reflecting on conversations I have around the convergence of longevity and Technology
I am building a habit of writing everyday and sharing something that has happened in my world in the last 24 hours.
I live on the African continent in South Africa. I have spent a lot of time building social media contacts around the globe to try and understand the global trends and comparing them to local ones. This is how I have built my business and now have some amazing contacts across the globe.
Last year I was introduced to a lady in Ghana via The Encore Global Network in the USA. We chatted via email and Skype and yesterday she landed in Johannesburg on route to Cape Town for a conference she was attending. I was unable to get to meet her in-transit, but we did chat on the phone.
Esi is deeply involved as a social scientist in Ghana and cares deeply about older people in her country. We shared some thoughts and ideas about how longevity is impacting our continent. Currently we have only about 8% of the population over 60 but by 2050 this continent will have the highest growth curve of older people. 400% up from where it is now. We have work to do on the continent and it needs to start now.
I love my work, connecting globally and learning from others.
