Idea #7 - Africa Needs An eWaste Facility - Big Business Needs To Run An ICO To Create This Facility
Africa has a real eWaste problem, and it's killing people.
Each year, thousands of tonnes of eWaste is shipped to Africa, and ends up in places like Ghana.
Children are going through this eWaste and getting sick from it. Even people who live in surrounding areas are being affected by the pollution.
Livestock is being poisoned and going into the food chain. Harmful chemicals are going into the water systems and polluting the land to the point where one day it will be unusable.
The workers burn the cords to get the copper from inside, and the toxic smoke is poisoning everyone.
Why is this happening?
The reason behind this is simple economics.
There is a lot of money to be made in importing technology into Africa. Old computers can be found for free or bought cheaply in western countries and then shipped to Africa for a good profit.
The problem is, there are no proper e Waste facilities in Africa.
Now the Africans need technology, and Ghana along with Nigeria are some of the most technology proficient parts of Africa.. the technology hubs.
They NEED e Waste facilities, there is a MASSIVE opportunity for reputable recycling businesses to step in and create these e Waste facilities.
Africa offers cheap labor and is the #1 destination in the world for old technology.
The opportunity here to save the environment, save lives and create massive profit exists right now.
My idea was to create a crowd funded ICO on one of the main blockchains such as Ethereum, EOS or TRON and use viral marketing techniques to bring in users outside of the current bitcoin community.
This could be setup as a charity or a non for profit.. and what a thing to do.
We need everyone to help, get everyone involved.. this could be the biggest ICO of all time and help revolutionize the technology industry in Africa.
Just show these horrible pictures to everyone, no one who has empathy wants to see anyone live like this.
People will give money without even wanting coins in return.. they will just donate.
To increase profits and sustainability of the project some of the funding could be used to create cheap housing for the workers and families.
This housing can be rented out for low amounts to workers and local business owners, which will create passive income for the recycling business while at the same time giving the local residents much better living conditions.
The whole business needs to be run on the blockchain, from start to finish.
All sales and transactions can be run on the blockchain, along with mobile phones for micro payments. Sales of computers and technology, payment to employees, payments for local shops and retail outlets.
Millions and millions of computer parts can be sold worldwide each year, all on the blockchain.
This will create a micro economy on the blockchain which will ensure initial investors get real return on investment and will massively boost cryptocurrency usage in a major market.
This idea needs to be created by a legitimate recycling company or some sort of well known corporation.
Having unknown, inexperienced people trying to raise the money for this project will just lead to more scams and more users losing money on shady ICOs.
If big business stepped in.. advertised on TV and social media the amount of money that could be raised for this project would be enormous.
The profits that can be gained from recycling this hardware and repairing it for local and international usage is in the billions per year.
This will take cryptocurrency to a new level, and most importantly we can save thousands or perhaps even millions of people from dying.
