Aergo — Detailed view of Token (Part 3)

This is my third article about Aergo, a 4th generation “ enterprise ready” blockchain protocol.In this article, I will talk more about the Token as well as my view about the project.

AERGO Token Usage

There are 3 types of usage of AERGO Tokens.

• Payment/Currency: Aergo tokens will be the fuel of the Aergo network, operating as a medium of exchange between service providers and end users.
• Staking/Mining: DPoS will provide the ability to staking for token holders by locking up their tokens in the network.
• Coinstack Access: Aergo Tokens can be used as payment method for the different assets and services of Aergo Marketplace.

ROADMAP

Regarding road map, AERGO provide a very clear development schedule for their project. 

AERGO STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

STRENGTHS:

• Backed by Blocko
• Blocko already had more than 20 million users and AERGO will benefits from this for sure
• AERGO’s platform architecture allows programmers to code in SQL, C++, Golang, JavaScript and Python will surely attract a lot of developers.

WEAKNESSES:

• Private chains is a quite new concept in blockchain industry and may need time for adoption and understanding.
• Big competitors like IBM who are currently experimenting and planning to enter this field.

Final Words

Blockchain application for business is moving at a really fast pace. Major tech companies such as Microsoft, IBM and SAP have already developed blockchain products specifically for enterprise implementation. Products like SAP’s Cloud Platform Blockchain Services, which recently entered the market, pose potential competition. Entering the area, AERGO would face unexpected considerable challenging difficulties.Above all, the potential of AERGO is undeniable, I believe the team and their project will do the best out of their own, like their predecessor — ICON — has achieved.
