Gully Erosion In Action

All about yesterday, at exactly 12 noon, I went for sight seeing at a gully eroded terrain of Ekosodin community in the great Benin kingdom Nigeria.
From the information gathered from people of the erea, that it took just 2 years of rain to erode the land mass. But from research, it takes about 178 years for just 1cm of soil horizon to form.
With these facts, we should find more reasons to care for our soil and save them from erosion through the following measures;

• Don't build or construct on water canals.
• Don't expose soil to direct rainfall
• Always cultivate soil without uterring its natural integrity.
