Another fishing update. This year the fish have been so plentiful that fisherman have been able to throw a variety of baits to attract a strike.

The Spook

The lure has a side-to-side action on the surface known as "walking the dog"

On the Fly

Throwing flies off the rocks has been an effective way to attract a strike this year.

Holdovers

Holdovers are typically found in estuaries and creeks and around some power plants where the water stayed warm while the surrounding body of water cooled off. Thus they stayed.

Migrators

Most older and larger bass are migrators. As the waters warm, stripers migrate up from the coasts of North Carolina and Virginia seeking cooler water. They end up throughout the waters of New England, and even further north than the Penobscot river in Maine.
