Nazare, the 8th wonder of the world

As a surfer I always wanted to go Nazare, not for surfing obviously... :) but just to watch the show...
Nazare holds the biggest wave in the world... the special bathymetry of the sea floor makes this place very special, there is a deep canyon just in front of the town that refracts waves and concentrates the power of the ocean to this specific place creating the biggest waves in the world... and believe me! its quite something to watch...
It's amazing to watch this amount of power but what's more amazing is the fact that people actually surf those waves...!

As hard as it is to imagine, there is a bunch of people dedicated to surf big waves and to surf this particular wave... Some live here but some are ready to drop anything they are doing and jump on a plane if the forecast looks good, witch is what happened a couple days ago...

A large swell was on its way to create those amazing waves pictured here, I was lucky enough to be around so I came to watch the show and as I expected, i was not disappointed...

If you come around Nazare in Portugal in winter time make sure you come have a look at this place that i think should be consider the 8th wonder of the world!

Plus the town is very nice and the fish really good ;)
