RE: ADSactly Folklore -The mystery of the lagoon
The waters will always be full of mystery. Thus lakes, lagoons, rivers and seas are a nutritious source of myths and legends that have enriched the cosmogony of ancient or traditional communities. A natural being that has always been linked to the lagoons is the snake (the "snake", as we usually say in Venezuela). Thus there is a legend that in the lagoon of Campoma lives a gigantic snake, that if it wakes up would produce a terrible earthquake; this legend is equivalent to the myth of Huío, the deity of the makiritares.
Thank you for your charming and illustrative post, @nancybriti.
I always like to read your comments because you always give me ideas for new posts. A work on the legends of snakes and rivers would be very attractive. Thank you for your accurate and helpful comments, @josemalavem
