Sadly, you are so right in that most rescues deliver far healthier animals than backyard breeders. Backyard breeders are in it to make a buck, very disreputable, and many animals suffer and die in shelters because of them. You did a wonderful thing adopting your current Bear from a shelter. He has turned out to be a wonderful dog. :-)
