Don’t adopt a dog unless you want a forever buddy who is always there for you and makes you laugh.
Don’t adopt a dog that runs to the kitchen every time you open a package of cheese and makes you smile.
Don’t adopt a dog that wags his tail at the door when you say the word “walk.”
Don’t adopt a dog that pulls on the leash at the street that leads to the other coffee shop that is further away so he can get a longer walk with you.
Don’t adopt a dog unless you want a daily walk. He needs the exercise and you will get in shape.
Don’t adopt a dog that gets up on his long greyhound hind legs and greets you with a big smacker on the lips when you return from your holiday.
Don’t adopt a dog who strategically land on top of your foot when you are sleeping and pins it under a furry heater.
Don’t adopt a dog who pops his head out of the passenger window of your car, the wind flapping back his cheeks to reveal a goofy smile that cheers up the other drivers laugh.
Mostly, don’t adopt a dog because each day he will stand up and stretch his legs in front of him and bow his head to you and his big soft eyes will say “thank you.”
